Molodvizh 2026

The “Molodvizh” fest has been held in Lviv for nine consecutive years, but this year was special for SBT was on it as well! We were delighted to receive an invitation from the organizers to participate in the panel discussion titled “Why do we choose Ukrainian? On Language in Culture and Content.” Bohdana Vozniuk represented the team at the discussion, joining fellow speakers Yulia Yurina (singer and folklorist), Yurii Samusenko (film critic and journalist), Oleksandr Sanchenko (Member of Parliament), and moderator Solomiia Kopets.

During the conversation, the speakers shared their observations regarding the trend of making a “conscious choice” to use the Ukrainian language within their respective fields. Bohdana discussed the specifics of officially adding Ukrainian in games, explained why one cannot simply add voiceovers to just any title, and outlined the challenges Ukrainian gamers face when trying to play in Ukrainian (as well as the existing solutions to these issues). Over the course of the discussion Ms. Yulia mentioned that she is eagerly awaiting the Ukrainian translation of “Hogwarts Legacy” (as do we, Ms. Yulia, as do we!) and learned that “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” already includes a translation 🙂

Overall, the festival program was quite packed and engaging for young people of all ages—and as noted during one of the panel discussions, under the law “On the basic principles of youth policy,” citizens aged 14 to 35 (inclusive) are considered young. The agenda featured lectures on topics ranging from self-employment, business, and working independently to corruption and the country’s culture of remembrance. Moreover, there were plenty of other activities, such as a “Book Rave” with the Sens bookstore, a silent disco, and a concert program to wrap up the evening.
