Ukrainian Localization: February-March 2024 (#83)

Greetings, our dearest friends! Let not capricious weather spoil your mood, and let’s hope Ukrainian localization finds the shortest path into your favourite video games. Speaking of which, here’s a short overview of our February and March accomplishments.

UKRAINIAN LOCALISATION

FINISHED TRANSLATIONS

“Minecraft. Офіційна кулінарна книга” (orig.: Minecraft: Gather, Cook, Eat! Official Cookbook) in our Ukrainian translation has come out, courtesy of Mal’opus publishing house. You have to buy this book if you’re a Minecraft fan. And even if you’re not, you should, as it contains many cool and surprising recipes that will wow you.

Following the release, we’ve given away two copies among our patrons on our Patreon and Buy me a coffee.

There were no game localization releases in this timeframe. However, a big new Baldur’s Gate 3 update came out in February.

ONGOING TRANSLATIONS AND EDITING

Here is how our volunteer projects are doing:

Planescape: Torment is 28% translated. February and March saw an 8% progress (which is approx. 80,000 words).

Atom RPG: Trudograd is 99% translated.

Darkest Dungeon is 99% translated. The Ukrainization mod is ready for download.

Kingdom Come Deliverance translation editing is 48% done. We would like to once again remind you that the game has been fully translated, and you can choose Ukrainian localization in the game.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

In February, we conducted a Valentine’s Day giveaway where the main prize was a gift edition of Cyberpunk 2077.

We’ll have another exciting giveaway soon so keep up with our updates.

Games Gathering 2024 took place in Lviv in March. We could hardly sit out such an amazing event so we sent our representatives there.

Also Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University students have completed a two-month internship in SBT Localization. Every student worked diligently and showcased a great deal of knowledge. We, conversely, have received great feedback about the internship and are very glad to have helped young translators hone their craft.
