Ukrainian localization June – July 2024 (#85)

Greetings, friends! May the summer bring you only joyous days, may your soul always feel the warmth and the sun, and may the number of your favorite games with Ukrainian localizations in game stores grow. Since SBT Localization is constantly working on the Ukrainianization of game worlds, we would like to remind you of the exciting things that happened in June and July and how the translation of some of our projects is going.

UKRAINIAN LOCALIZATION

UPDATES AND COMPLETED TRANSLATIONS

In June, the long-awaited update with improvements to the drone control simulator’s Ukrainian localization of the Liftoff: FPV Drone Racing by LuGusStudios was released.

If you don’t know what this game is, here are some facts about it:

This full-fledged simulator reproduces the physics of drone flight and allows you to learn how to operate them. Crushing a drone in the game is better than in real life.
The game features eSports tournaments where you can win real prizes.
Finally, the game has only three official localizations, one being Ukrainian.

Therefore, be sure to buy the game, support the developers, leave feedback on Steam, or just thank LuGus Studios for what they do, — they will be delighted.

The Ukrainian localization of Atom RPG has been added: Trudograd, a standalone expansion to Atom RPG from the independent studio Atom Team, most of whose staff are Ukrainians. This is an ironic RPG in the alternative reality of the post-apocalyptic USSR, inspired by the classic RPGs like Fallout 1-2, Wasteland 1 and Baldur’s Gate.

Publishing house Mal’opus has released a new print run of the Death Stranding artbook. By the way, this is the first art book translated by SBT Localization, so we are very proud of it and fondly recall the translation process.

And finally, “World of Warcraft. The Official Cookbook” has finally been released. It’s not easy to recreate dishes from game worlds in reality. Still, Chelsea Monroe-Cassel (also the author of The Elder Scrolls. The Official Cookbook) never ceases to amaze video game fans with recipes from their favorite games. So even if you don’t find chimaerok or bat wings in your nearest supermarket, you can still enjoy World of Warcraft dishes.

Board game publisher Geekach reminds us of the work on ”Cyberpunk RED. Jumpstart Kit”. The set contains the game’s world, comprehensive system rules, adventures, pre-generated characters, maps, character chips, and dice. Take our word for it, it’s going to be incredibly exciting. The estimated release date is October 2024, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, we remind you that you can get acquainted with the world of the Cyberpunk RED board role-playing game through the quick start booklet “Cyberpunk RED. Easy Mode”, which is available both in print and in free electronic format.

VOLUNTEER WORK

When they have some time to spare, our translators usually warm up with volunteer projects.

We currently have two:

Planescape: Torment, a classic D&D RPG — 35% translated.
A mysterious surprise game — 13% translated (although not our favorite million-word volume, but it’s also quite big).

OTHER ACTIVITIES

In June, we joined the joint fundraiser of the «Книголють» reader community, and with your help, we managed to raise more than 50 thousand hryvnias! Once again, we are convinced that our community is the best. 🙂

In July, SBT Localization celebrated its 12th anniversary and held a raffle to raise funds for a UAV for the Brigade of the Offensive Guard “Помста”.

Did you know that if we count only those projects that have already been released, then last year our portfolio was expanded with video games and books totaling 3,000,000 words, and over the years we have accumulated a total of 10,300,000 words! We are confident that by the next birthday of the union, we will surprise you with new achievements in the Ukrainianization of the Universe.
